Six BBHS Seniors named a Commended Student in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program
Blind Brook High School Principal Mark Greenwald announced this week that six students have been named a Commended Student in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Those recognized include seniors Alexandria Dluzhevskiy,
Abigail Goldstein, Rachel Horn, Joshua Montvelisky, Emily Tian, and Charlotte Zelin.
A Letter of Commendation from the school and National Merit Scholarship Corporation (NMSC®), which conducts the program, was presented by the principal to these scholastically talented seniors.
“This is a remarkable group of students who have excelled academically and become proven leaders in our school,”
Mr. Greenwald said. “I congratulate them for having received this honor and wish them all the best in their future endeavors.”
Approximately 34,000 Commended Students from across the nation have been selected for this honor. While they will not advance in the 2024 competition for National Merit Scholarship awards, these Commended Students stand among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2024 competition by excelling in the 2022 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT®).
“Those being named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success,” commented a spokesperson for NMSC. “These students represent a valuable national resource: recognizing their accomplishments, as well as the key role their schools play in their academic development, is vital to the advancement of educational excellence in our nation. We hope that this recognition will help broaden their educational opportunities and encourage them as they continue their pursuit of academic success.”
